Currently, I lead the sixth form service residential, involving all Year 12 students in <em>meaningful local community service project to support a wild elephant sanctuary<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>I have organised and chaperoned numerous educational trips, including visits to the <em>Volkswagen Beetle factory, Microsoft, CISCO Systems, Terracycle Canal Cleanup as well as excursions to Brussels and Rome.<\/em> Each year, I spearhead IB team-building events, coordinating a diverse range of activities such as <em>Circus Skills, Laser Tag, Theory of Knowledge &amp; Hypnosis, Mindfulness, and Leadership exercises.<\/em><\/p>\n<div class=\"fw-divider-space\" style=\"padding-top: 30px;\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div class=\"block-title\">\n<h3>Technology<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<p>I believe it is <strong>essential that students are information literate<\/strong> &amp; can <strong>utilise new technologies to improve their learning<\/strong>. Contrary to most educators\u2019 beliefs, the idea of <em>\u2018digital natives\u2019<\/em> I believe is a false argument, that clouds schools\u2019 judgements about technology use. Intentionally teaching students to choose the <em>\u2018right technological tool for the right job\u2019<\/em> is essential. I am a consummate user of many applications &amp; embrace tools like <em>\u2018generative AI\u2019 <\/em>alongside more embedded tools such as ManageBAC, SIMS, Engage, Firefly and PowerSchool, always ensuring that I utilise to support students learning efficiency. The blended use of online tools such as blogs, learning environments, social bookmarking with aggregation and video feedback allows for a <strong>flipped learning style approach that supports students in their lifelong learning<\/strong>.
